Primo libro che leggo di questa autrice, e sono rimasta molto colpita! Anche se in un primo momento ho avuto l'impressione di trovarmi alla Faglia di Tenebre e Ossa, vi assicuro che poi le similitudini si fermano qui.
Fin dalla prima pagina mi sono ritrovata catapultata in questa avvincente storia! 😍
I want him to hurt, like he's hurt me.
Vesper e Dalca mi hanno catturata subito, non c'è che dire 😏 La tensione tra di loro è palpabile fin dal primo incontro e vi farà bruciare d'ansia fino alla fine! 🔥
"I won't tell."
"I know you won't. Because if I hear that you've told anyone, you'll have a good reason not to like me." He steps closer, so his breath caresses my face. "One of the best people I ever knew came from the fifth. For her sake, I want to trust you. And I owe Izamal a debt I can never repay. If he trusts you, so should I. And yet."
He's so close that I see his pupils grow, the dark eating up the blue of his eyes. "I don't like the way you look at me, Vesper."
Dalca è diventato all'istante uno dei miei nuovi bookboyfriend e patatino da proteggere a tutti i costi 💙 Il mio cuore si è stretto in una morsa di compassione e angoscia per lui 😭
"I'm sorry I ran."
He closes his eyes. "I frightened you."
My head spins. "Yes."
"I'm sorry."
"Did you mean to?"
He breathes in and out, then his eyes flutter open. "Yes."
"Why?"
The words come slow, as if he has to pull them from some dark, hidden place. "Because you frighten me."
Mi dispiace soltanto che durante la lettura delle ultime 100 pagine avevo la febbre alta, quindi ci ho capito poco e niente durante la straziante battaglia finale 🙈
In conclusione, The Darkening di Sunya Mara è stato una gran bella sorpresa che mi ha rapita completamente e tenuta sul filo del rasoio dall'inizio alla fine grazie al trope enemies to lovers back to enemies tra la coraggiosa Vesper e il duro Principe Dalca 💖 Sono molto curiosa di scoprire cosa l'autrice ci ha riservato nel secondo e conclusivo volume, visto ciò che è accaduto nel finale 😱
