Era il 9 settembre del 2018, quando cominciai a leggere questo libro nell'edizione italiana, giacché me l'avevano consigliato con ardore. Ebbene... Lo mollai dopo 300 pagine – praticamente a un passo dalla fine 😅 Allora, il mio problema era stato la protagonista, che avevo trovato troppo frivola nonostante fosse dipinta come un'assassina...
Il 30 agosto del 2023 ho finito di leggere il primo libro della serie Throne of Glass, e ne sono rimasta incantata! 😍 Forse è dovuto al fatto che io sono cambiata. Forse è dovuto al fatto che l'ho letto in inglese. Forse è perché, stavolta, ho letto prima la raccolta di novelle prequel. O forse è proprio vero che ogni libro ha il suo momento.
Fatto sta che l'ho amato! 💖

Ho adorato Celaena e la sua arroganza, e non mi ha dato per nulla fastidio che ogni tanto si abbandonasse alle frivolezze della sua giovane età, perché ora so cosa ha passato questa povera ragazza 💔 In ogni pagina, infatti, io ho percepito il dolore che la dilania per la perdita di Sam Cortland. Ogni cosa glielo ricorda, e la scena in cui si siede al pianoforte senza però suonarlo... MAMMA MIA 💔
Per quanto riguarda il triangolo amoroso...😏 Nonostante Chaol sia decisamente il mio tipo, il mio cuore ha scelto Dorian 💙 Ho amato tantissimo il suo personaggio e il modo in cui approccia Celaena, nonostante sia consapevole che lei non ricambierà mai il suo amore allo stesso modo.
"You could be different," Elena said quietly. "You could be great. Greater than me—than any of us."
Celaena opened her mouth, but no words came out.
Elena took a step toward her. "You could rattle the stars," she whispered. "You could do anything, if you only dared. And deep down, you know it, too. That's what scares you most."
La trama di questo primo volume è meravigliosa, ricca di misteri, azione, mostri e omicidi efferati, e fa da apripista a una storia che sono certa mi entrerà dentro, così come ha fatto con le migliaia di lettori in tutto il mondo 😍
Ho già letto anche il secondo romanzo, e non vedo l'ora di parlarvene, perché mi ha sconvolta 😁
